Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks-2-1024x767Thomas Jeffrey Hanks, born on July 9, 1956, is an American actor. Known for both his comedic and dramatic roles, he's one of the most loved and recognizable film stars worldwide and is widely regarded as an American cultural icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was a Concord, California native to Janet Marylyn Hanks, a hospital worker and Amos Mefford Hanks an itinerant cook. His mother, initially referred to "Fraga" was part of born into a Portuguese family. His father was mostly English. Tom was born into a family he calls "fractured". He had no experience in acting in college and credits the fact that he could not get a role in a college production with launching his career. He tried out for auditions in downtown Cleveland to be cast in a play at the theater for community members. Director invited him to Cleveland and that's how his acting career began.
